It's impossible to move ore one tile. Instead you have to move it 2 tiles and then 1 back. Would be simpler if the machine moved the ore beneath it too.

The machines aren't intended to support fine tuned movement of ore. They're for getting stuff out of the way or consolidating.

If you think you've got some good arguments for the change I'll be happy to discuss them with you on the mod's GitHub if you make an issue for it. I don't get notifications on the mod portal so it's really inconvenient for me.
