I like this mod, but doing all the converting in your pocket is not really helpful. If I have an abundance of Coal(for example), and I need Iron, I cannot keep my smelters going by picking it all up and converting it by hand. So, I'm not entirely sure what this does for me. If on the other hand, its only designed to facilitate hand crafting than I guess it works. Kind of disappointing, as I was hoping to put some of the extra ores I had to work. :)
