g Maybe I don't math?

It seems to me the math isn't great with inserter timescale selection. I understand there is some room for error in regards to arm movement, resource input, and resource output; however, it doesn't seem even close in the math.

Example: Red belt produciton in assembler machine 3

Gear input reads using only 0.339% of a single fast inserter; however, the machine has a ~1 sec pause waiting for gears from a single fast inserter for each production run. This is a base, unboosted assembler being fed from a full blue belt of gears using a single fast inserter.

Is there something I am not understanding or is the math that off?

I also added a comparison with the older mod, Max Rate Calculator, which shows needing 1.353 fast inserters for gear loading.

Okay, I have done additional testing with all other mods removed to confirm it isn't something else causing this problem. I assume through process of elimination that this mod's fomula for inserter requirement is very inaccurate. I don't know how anybody else has mentioned this before. It seems to be off by ~4 times what it should be just from my basic knowledge of numbers.

New test:

Assembling maching 3 running express underground belt production.
Requires 50 gears a second.
Bulk inserter is capable of moving ~15 items per second.
50/15=3.3 bulk inserters required (Roughly)
Rate Calculator+ is showing 0.15 bulk inserters required per machine. That is 4.55% of the required ~3.3.

Or am I just a dumb and reading this thing incorrectly?

Thanks and hopefully this issue can be resolved soon as I much enjoy this kind of mod.

I'm pretty sure the confusion here is because Rate Calculator uses inserter ratios from one inventory to another (i.e., machine to machine). This is the absolute best-case scenario possible. Thus, Rate Calculator expects inserters to move way more items than what they are actually capable of.

While that reasoning may help explain some discrepancy I don't believe it explains this mod's math. Going by the factorio wiki page for inserters (https://wiki.factorio.com/inserters). Chest to chest bulk inserter can move 30 items per second at max research and only ~15 items per second from belt to chest. That is roughly double the rate; however, this mod's math is roughly off by roughly 3-4 times the required amount.

The math is simply not mathing correctly. Also, most inserters in this game are used from belt to chest/machine so the math should focus on those numbers anyways. I don't imagine many people are using inserters to move items chest to chest very often, if ever.
