There is a separate grenade for each ore type including oil and stone. They cost nothing to craft other than 8 seconds.
Each grenade generates between 225k and 235k of the ore it is for in a 25x25 square centered on the explosion. Oil seems to give a bit more than the others. Attempting to over lap auto fails as does having anything in the area.
