I also just wanted to add that you did an amazing job getting the color masking to work. How did you manage that if i might ask? please dont tell me you did the masks by hand??

For the color filter I pulled out all the hues of red from the images and then grayscale them. It is actuality rather lazy and also has some effects on the pistol as well.

How did you get the original sprites made?

I made the model way back when i was learning to use blender and just exported it for shits and giggles expecting like 6 people to ever use it

I have been wanting to export the sprites at a higher resolution as well as make a proper color mask. Do you still have the file?

The sprite assembly process was unfortunately a near one way process with alot of manual edits. As for the low resolution i see factorio has changed how it loads the character sprites. Before it would load the high and low ones separately but now the high quality versions do absolutely nothing and the game only loads the low resolution one then uses that as the high resolution. Just replace the contents of the LR directory with those from the HR directory and it should look dramatically better.
