Impatient's Landfill Tech Removal

You are not Dubai! Removes the landfill technology and recipe from the game. Landfill items already in the game or obtainable via other sources than own production can still be used.

i Solution problems with other mods which rely on the landfill technology or recipe.

Hi Impatient,

As you described on your information section, you remove landfill technology and recipe from the game. A beter approach is to set it hidden (data.raw.technology.landfill.hidden = true). This way the technology will not be present in the technology tree, with as result the recipe for landfill never beiing unlocked. This way you're not actualy removing it from the game, but rater just disabling it. This makes sure this mod still works with other mods.

Kind regards

Hi lovely_santa,

thanks for your interest. Question: How does setting it hidden affect the technology when it already has been researched? How can the recipe be disabled?

Thanks!

When loading in the mod, for example in on_configuration_changed you could set the research to not researched

This would not remove the recipes from the machines.

In general, the purpose of this mod is to remove the tech. Not to keep it. A player who installs this mod probably does not want landfill researchable or producable in the vanilla way - or that player would just not install it. Thus I don't see how mod compatibility could be a concern for this mod.

Is there a known mod setup, where players want this mod alongside with a conflicting one?

Setting the research to not researched will result in the recipe beiing locked again, resulting in unable to craft it, resulting in assembling machines losing there recipe. I am thinking of mods like waterfill that use the same technology, or other mods like my MoreScience mod that change some prerequisites, including landfill, so those mods will give errors becose some vanilla stuff is removed. In the general case you want to try to alter the vanilla without deleting it. But who am I, I'm just trying to give a suggestive idea on how to solve your problem you described on your info page.
