Furnaces are upgradable now (alternative recipe). The vanilla recipes can also be turned off.
Stone Furnace to Steel Furnace is more expensive than Steel Furnace on its own. Is that meant to be the case ?

maybe it should be 7x stone brick + 6 steel + stone furnace
