When holding CTRL and left click when placing an inserter, "use filter" is already activated?

as now i always place inserters rotated away from source/destination to prevent the inserter doing stupid stuff, but then the filter helper does not activate. Or perhaps the filter helper should search in a radius around the inserter instead?

Not sure if it's possible to capture ctrl-leftclick well enough for this.

Maybe there can be a toggle to set filter while the toggle is activated.

What I recommend for now is having a filtered inserter BP on your quickbar and use that when it's needed.

I am using a BP inserters with 'whitelist of none' already set but am also wishing for a more seamless way. I don't have experience modding, but wondering if maybe it might be possible to have an option when you place an inserter normally (not rotated) and it detects more than one item type in the source it will start with a filter of 'whitelist nothing'. It would be SO NICE to select the filter before it starts grabbing things you don't want.
