I put the vanilla buffer chest ghost (the only mod that affects it is AAI Containers & Warehouses, I increased the size from 48 to 50). In the vanilla GUI I selected the request for 20 rocket fuel, in the mod menu that appeared I pressed ctr+click on rocket fuel.

Checked separately - the game crashes even if you turn off all mods and leave only yours. Here is a video of what I am doing. The AAI Containers & Warehouses mod is enabled in the video, but it doesn't affect the behavior: https://youtu.be/B8GlYt4UQZk
