Fast Replace Underground Belt

Underground belt can be placed directly on normal belt. Additionally, placing an underground belt will remove any normal belts facing the same direction between the end points (as in Quick UG).

In a recent game update they "fixed a bug" and made mods that depend on that bug crash the game when placing underground belts. Here is a link to the forum post, as well as a link to another mod that had a work around.
