thank you very much for this great mod, I was searching for it since there is the new gui design!

Is there a possibility to make an option to change the color via hex code or similar in the mod settings?

No, Backgrounds are sprites as well.
Maybe they support tint, but that'd probably look ugly.

many thanks for your feedback, that was a very helpful hint! I just changed the brightness of the "gui_bright_buttons.png " to a darker tint. Now it looks pretty cool to me!
