What about making it randomly mining items instead of separate patches, did not test it btw. And another idea, instead of making higher tiers or/and providing liquids, for convenience purposes, let there be dirty items-counterparts such that you get dirty electric engine instead of pure (normal vanilla item), and instead of processing them on mining site then these dirty parts can be brought all to one place to be divided based on technology requirements, e.g. copper ore/copper plate needs only water while steel needs steam, courtesy of previous posters, batteries and processing units need some sulfuric acid (only a bit to requires oil but not consume much of it) or some mid-tech valuable item. And since it provides such high tier items, I guess a pollution of 30-50 would compensate for the 'skipped' pollution process. Like electric engine takes 18 sec, 56.5 sec and (11 iron plates + 4 copper plates / 0.525 = 26.7 sec) assembling, smelting and mining resulting (in vanilla by dividing time by crafting speed then multiply by pollution, assuming solar used in power to avoid pollution from boilers) in 57.6 pollution in MK2 assemblies, 25.43 pollution in electric furnaces and 240.3 pollution in miners all without modules (323.33 pollution in total). If a miner were to mine with the same pollution rate it should have pollution of 169.75 such that after 1.9 sec (0.525 speed gives ore every 1.9 sec) would produce that. Now it's true engine is not the only product, miner must (IMO) have estimate pollution p such that (a product having a possibility n and total pollution t) SIGMA( (t*n) * (0.8 ~ 1.2 if you wish producing more or less total pollution than original) ). TBH, considering how most products use at least one smelted plate I'd like at least 500 KW and 15 pollution.
I appreciate your efforts after all.
