How about a checkbox in the settings to not show how many inserters i need or wich belt type nor a slider for the amount of machines.
Just input and output for an easy not clunky gui.. a simple gui.

i do love the mod, but i dont see any use for all the extra features added to it latly

I was thinking about requesting this. It'd be nice in particular with modded games with different belt speeds and/or adjustable inserters (aka bob's) where the numbers won't be right regardless.

Though I do want the slider for number of machines so please have that as a separate option.

I'm working on a version where various gui elements can be turned on or off. I plan to get it finished and released either today or tomorrow.

I've added settings to toggle different gui elements. Thanks for the suggestion!
