I started a game with science set to a more expensive x5 research cost, but because smelting is not unlocked by default, I can't craft new science packs to ever reach it. (the ones I can salvage from the ship are not enough).

The ability to start with more expensive science might be something you would want to consider for an even bigger challenge. Or did I overlook a way how I could obtain the additional iron plates I need?

I have a new option in the mod settings. You can change the number from the red bottles.

My opinion: This mod is realy hard without extra resarch cost.....
